4th Grade Reading - Summarizing Literature Lesson
- Summary
- A summary is a short retelling of the main ideas or events in a passage. You should write a summary using your own words and not the author’s.
A good summary:
- lists only the important details.
- presents ideas/events in the correct order.
- retells the important details without using the author's words.
- helps retell the passage in a shorter way.
