4th Grade Reading - Setting Lesson
Setting A setting is the time and place in which the events in a passage happen.
When you read, think of where and when the story takes place.
A story can take place anywhere (the desert or a classroom) and at any time (nighttime, the past, or the future).
The setting affects the way a character behaves.
The setting also shapes the plot of the story or a play.
