5th Grade Reading - Author's Reasons and Evidence Lesson
Author’s Reasons and Evidence:
In a text, an author can present the reader with information that he or she wants the reader to believe.
To support this information, the author will include reasons and evidence. These parts of the passage give readers more information about why they should believe what the passage says.
When you read, ask yourself:
What does the author want me to believe after reading this passage?
What reasons and/or evidence is the author using to prove the information is true?
