Asking and Answering Questions
When you read, asking yourself questions about the text helps you understand the topic better.
When you read a story, think about:
What happens at the beginning/middle/end?
What does a character do?
What is the passage mostly about?
What does a character say?
These are some of the questions you can ask yourself while reading informational texts, or texts that have facts:
What is the author mainly trying to tell the reader?
Which detail shows how something is done?
How can the reader tell (an idea) is important?
Who is the passage about?
Where does something happen?
