Dictionaries, glossaries, and thesauruses are all resources that people may use to find out the meaning, spelling, pronunciation, and other things about an unfamiliar word.
Dictionary
A dictionary is a collection of words, either in a book or online, that is usually arranged in alphabetical order. It may include information on the definition, pronunciation, usage, syllabication, and origin of words.
A glossary is an alphabetical list of terms that relate to a specific subject. Each term is defined, and sometimes, an example of the term will also be given. Glossaries can usually be found at the back of books.

abdomen
The portion of the body below the rib cage (mammals) or the thorax (arthopods). It contains the stomach and intestines.
active transport
The movement of substances in a cell (such as ions or molecules) across a membrane. Substances move from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration, consuming energy as they move.
Thesaurus
A thesaurus is a collection of words that includes a brief definition, synonyms, and antonyms.
