Revising and Editing
When you write, it is important to revise and edit your work as necessary.
Revise
To revise your writing is to make changes that will make it clearer, more coherent, and more interesting to read.
Always reread what you have written. Ask yourself questions.
The same principles apply whether you are revising a single paragraph or a multi-paragraph essay. Make sure that your ideas are relevant to your topic, logically connected to each other, and interestingtoread. Include a strong introductory sentence or paragraph and a concluding sentence or paragraph that "wraps everything up." You may have to add, delete, change, combine, or rearrange words, ideas, and sentences when revising your writing.
My Curious Kitten
My new kitten’s name is Dusty. Dusty looks into every little space she can find. She digs out whatever’s in there. It’s usually just dust or a bug. Dusty seems to like it. She jumps up on top of the kitchen cabinets. She watches everything from up there. It scares me when she walks across the railing at the top of the upstairs hallway. My new kitten is like a lot of cats. She likes to know about everything going on. She looks out the window for a long time. My new kitten stays up late into the night looking around for stuff.

Editing
To edit your writing is to fix any mistakes in grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.
After revising your work, reread it again, looking for mistakes. Ask questions.
Do all my sentences have subjects and verbs that agree?
