ADVERBS OF PLACE
Adverbs that convey a
place
describe
where
an action has happened.
Examples
here, there, everywhere, nowhere, somewhere, inside, outside, nearby, back, forward, backward, away
NOTE:
Some adverbs of place can also be used as
prepositions
. To tell the difference, remember that prepositions are always followed by a
noun
or
pronoun
.
Example:
The dogs ran
away
from the lawnmower.
She should come
inside
before she gets wet.
