END PUNCTUATION
End punctuation refers to marks that go at the end of a complete sentence. There are three kinds of end punctuation: the period, the question mark, and the exclamation point.
The period looks like a black dot. It is used at the end of declarative sentences. These sentences are statements.
Example:
Earth is the third planet from the sun after Mercury and Venus.
Those flowers only bloom at night.
The question mark looks like a curved hook with a black dot underneath. It is used at the end of interrogative sentences. These sentences ask questions.
Example:
Have you seen my pet snake Roger?
What does she want to eat for dinner tonight?
The exclamation point looks like a long line with a black dot beneath. It is used at the end of exclamatory sentences. These sentences show loudness or strong emotions.
