PRONOUNS
Pronouns are words that can be used to take the
place of a
noun at different points in a sentence.
SUBJECT PRONOUNS
Some pronouns can take the place of a noun as the subject of a sentence. The subject of a sentence performs the action in a sentence.

The kite flew high in the air.
It flew high in the air.
OBJECT PRONOUNS
Some pronouns can be used to replace a noun as an object in a sentence. An object receives the action of a verb.

The teacher gave Rebecca a gold star on the test.
The teacher gave her a gold star on the test.
Bethany raced Louisa and Fran to the playground.
Bethany raced them to the playground.
POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
Some pronouns can be used to replace nouns that show possession in a sentence. A possessive pronoun shows ownership over an object.
his, her, their, my, our, your,
its, hers, theirs, mine, ours, yours

Her new dog likes to sleep on top of the coffee table.
The last piece of pie will be Frederick's.
